Expert Advisory Panel appointed to guide Global ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Evidence Centre

A new panel of independent sector leaders will provide strategic guidance, expert advice and vital stakeholder perspectives to support the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Global ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Evidence Centre. 

Overview

We are delighted to announce that the Expert Advisory Panel for Lloyd’s Register Foundation’s recently launched has been appointed. This panel of independent sector leaders will provide strategic guidance, expert advice and vital stakeholder perspectives to support the Centre in delivering its mission as a trusted creator, collator, and communicator of safety evidence and insight.

The panel’s diverse experience is drawn from government, industry, academia and civil society. They will work closely with the Centre team to ensure a strong balance of expertise is held across the group in support of the Centre’s goals, priorities and research strategies

This panel will have an advisory role on all the Centre’s projects, both in-house and delivered by partners, as part of its quality assurance process. Their advice will also form a crucial part of the review process for grants offered by the Centre to fill safety evidence gaps, including the current funding opportunity under which £2 million will be awarded to research applicants from across the world 

Meet the Panel

Martin Cottam

Chair of the Global ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Evidence Centre Expert Advisory Panel

Martin Cottam is the Chair of the Global ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø and Evidence Centre’s Expert Advisory Panel. Martin is an experienced business leader specialising in safety management in major hazard industries, occupational safety and health (OSH), quality management, and technical governance.

Ingrid Abreu Scherer

Independent Research Consultant

Ingrid Abreu Scherer has over 14 years’ experience supporting practitioners and policy makers to increase their impact on wellbeing, including at the What Works Centre for Wellbeing and as research consultant with Nottingham Trent University. 

Dr. Nikhil Bugalia

Assistant Professor / Department of Civil ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø at Indian Institute of Technology Madras

Dr. Nikhil Bugalia is an Assistant Professor in the Building Technology and Construction Management division of the Department of Civil ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø at Indian Institute of Technology Madras. 

Skye Buatava

Director / Australian Institute of Health and ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø

Skye Buatava is a Director of the Australian Institute of Health and ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø and chair of its Policy and Advocacy Committee. She is also General Manager for Injury Care and Workers Compensation at Woolworths Group. 

Prof. Jerry John Kponyo

Director / Office of Grants and Research at the Kwamne Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST)

Prof. Jerry John Kponyo is the Director of the Office of Grants and Research at the Kwamne Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Ghana, and former Dean of the Quality Assurance and Planning Office, and former Dean of the Faculty of Electrical and Computer ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø. 

James Pomeroy

Global Health, ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Environment and Quality (HSEQ) Leader / Arup

James Pomeroy is Arup’s Global Health, ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Environment and Quality (HSEQ) Leader, with 34 years’ experience leading change that significantly and sustainably improves safety, risk and sustainability outcomes in complex high-risk organisations. 

Malcolm Staves

Global Vice President of Health and ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø / ³¢â€™O°ùé²¹±ô

Malcolm Staves is Global Vice President of Health and ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø at ³¢â€™O°ùé²¹±ô, and a Fellow of the Institution of Chemical Engineers. He is responsible for the development and deployment of ³¢â€™O°ùé²¹±ô’s health and safety strategies, objectives, and management system.
